Aeras hosted Dr. Shabaana Khader, a tenured Associate Professor of Molecular Microbiology in the Department of Molecular Microbiology at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. Dr. Khader’s lab focuses on understanding the mechanisms that mediate or fail to mediate TB vaccines in order to better understand how T cells, macrophages, and granulomas impact the outcome of TB vaccine candidates.

​For the October edition of the Scott J. Thaler Lecture series, Aeras hosted Dr. Janice Endsley, an Associate professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.

Dr. Roy Curtiss III of Arizona State University’s Biodesign Institute presented at Aeras as part of the Scott J. Thaler Lecture Series.

Dr. David Russell of Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine presented at Aeras as part of the Scott J. Thaler Lecture Series.

Professor Louis Schofield from Australia provided insights from his malaria studies in Papua New Guinea, and Dr. Gavin Churchyard shared results of a study on TB in South Africa's mines.
