The Research Specialist is a member of the South Africa Endpoint Laboratory (SAEL) team with primary responsibilities in the area of clinical sample logistics and analysis using standard laboratory practices and, when necessary, Good Clinical Laboratory Practices. This position will work under supervision of the Scientist, SAEL in conjunction with the Head of Aeras Africa and the Aeras Immunology Director.
This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and providing assay support for preclinical, clinical candidates and other CMO projects coordinated by PD and Manufacturing. This position will also be responsible for developing and evaluating technology to characterize recombinant protein and virus products.This position also coordinates the assay qualification, validation and tech transfer activities.
The incumbent will join the Technical Operations Department to discover and apply purification methods to purify novel vaccines. The primary objective of the position is to support downstream process development team to execute purification and analytical assays for vaccine preparations.
The Sr. Manager/Associate Director, Clinical QA will participate in the development and oversight of the Clinical Quality Assurance program and will ensure implementation of global Quality strategies within Aeras.
The Policy Director, Africa Region supports the External Affairs Department’s policy, advocacy and resource mobilization objectives aimed at increasing awareness of TB as a public health problem, and the critical role that new TB vaccines play as part of a comprehensive strategy to control and ultimately eliminate TB, with a specific focus on the Africa region. The position will also support efforts to build support and political will for TB vaccine development from key constituencies, and increase resources for Aeras’ core objectives.
The Project Manager will work with cross-functional project and/or product development teams (PDTs) to ensure project objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets are met. The Project Manager will apply project management skills, concepts and tools to facilitate team activities and resource utilization.
Aeras is seeking a Senior Grant Writer who will work under the supervision of the Senior Director of Donor Relations to achieve institutional revenue goals, write proposals and reports, and identify funding opportunities to secure resources from a diverse sector of donors. Primary responsibilities include assisting the Senior Director of Donor Relations in writing funding requests and progress reports, conducting research to identify new sources of funding, and developing the case for support for potential new donors.
